On November 3, 2025, the Indian stock markets, the NSE and BSE, saw cautious trading, while benchmark indices saw flat to slightly positive movements. The Nifty increased 41.25 points, or 0.16 per cent, to 25,763.35, while the Sensex closed marginally higher by 39.78 points, or 0.05 per cent, at 83,978.49. The market's sectoral performance was uneven, with consumer durables seeing a minor 0.6 per cent dip and the real estate and PSU bank indices rising 1% apiece.

Shriram Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Apollo Hospitals, SBI, and SBI Life Insurance were among the top stock movers and the Nifty's biggest winners. However, some of the biggest losers were Larsen & Toubro (L&T), Nestle, TCS, ITC, and Maruti Suzuki. Due to cautious buying interest in mid- and small-cap equities, the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices increased by 0.3 and 0.5 per cent, respectively.

The previous session's market activity included institutional trades in which domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net buyers and foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net sellers. The Q2FY26 results released by prominent corporations like Bharti Airtel, Titan Company, Tata Consumer Products, Ambuja Cements, and Ajanta Pharma were noteworthy corporate events.

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) granted NSE subsidiary ACME Solar Arm a Category IV trading license for interstate power trading in India, marking significant market advancements.

Investors should be aware that the NSE and BSE will be closed for all trading activity on November 5, 2025, in observance of Guru Nanak Jayanti, a market holiday.

According to monthly operational updates, the BSE continued to improve investor grievance redressal through SEBI's processes, having addressed 143 investor complaints in October 2025. Additionally, SEBI actively strives to increase fraud prevention and market transparency.

All things considered, the markets are still cautious due to global economic uncertainties, such as worries about Chinese industrial slowdowns that have affected the price of commodities like copper.
